Andrew Mangiapane flew back to Chicago to evaluated further for his lower-body injury, which doesn’t sound great. Head coach Jeff Blashill told the media in Utah on Wednesday that the Blackhawks will not call anyone up. Teräväinen will be in the lineup for the time being, and they’ll go with seven defensemen if something else comes up.
A good read here form Mark Lazerus at The Athletic on Kane returning to the Blackhawks with something to prove.

The sickening story at Arizona State continues to unfold, and it isn’t getting better. In the wake of Blues prospect Matthew Mayich collapsing during a workout on Aug. 20, the university announced Wednesday that head coach Greg Powers was placed on paid administrative leave. This continues to be an absolute nightmare for the Mayich family — they should not be forgotten as the hockey program and university deal with the aftermath (poorly). But it’s also worth noting that this is far from an ideal star
