After a winless three-game road trip to open the season, the Chicago Blackhawks return home on Tuesday night still searching for their first victory as they welcome the St. Louis Blues to the United Center. The Blues split their first two games of the season with vastly different results, so it’s hard to know how that team is shaping up early on this season. St. Louis opened with a decently impressive 4-0 shutout of the Dallas Stars on Friday, as Joel Hofer stopped all 25 shots he faced and Mason McTavish scored just 1:34 into his Blues debut. One night later, though, the Blues were on the receiving end of a blowout, falling 6-1 to the Colorado Avalanche after allowing the first six goals of the game. As for their roster, the Blues underwent some changes over the offseason, but much of their top forward talent from last season remains.
