Road to the Draft, Rumors, Trades and Signings -
The Sabres Need to Jump on Things NOW The trade of Michael Kesselring wasn’t unexpected but it was disappointing to move off this player so quickly. Injuries derailed his season and he never secured favorability with head coach Lindy Ruff. The Sabres essentially dumped his salary to move up 7 spots in the draft, probably for better trade capital. Hopefully GMJK makes a big splash on draft weekend because there is a real chance Buffalo will have no picks in the first three rounds if that top pick is on the move. We all know the Alex Tuch situation. It appears highly probable he has played his final games as a Buffalo Sabre. If I’m Jarmo, a sign and trade attempt should be in the works. Don’t let him walk for nothing, make every attempt to collect some sort of asset for him. A second round pick, a bottom six defenseman, get something. State of the Sabres, Checklisting Areas of Concern -
Playoffs Over, Draft Fast Approaching, Jarmo Will Be Busy and Tested Today we examine seven points of interest for Sabres fans as business will ramp up for the team and the NHL over the next several weeks. Buffalo has areas of concern they must handle correctly. Opinions in this article are my own, it would be a boring world if we all thought as one. 1. Alex Tuch Mr. Buffalo Sabre himself is the big topic of the offseason for Buffalo. At this point, it feels like he will most assuredly test the free agent market. Some still feel like a last minute deal could be hammered out with the Sabres. No matter what happens, color me disappointed that one of the biggest faces of the franchise is going this route. I know it is his right and by NHL standards he is looking to maximize his earnings and it’s his career path and all that jazz. I’m just not seeing any compromise from Tuch’s camp. Pressing for more money when there is life-changing
