2025 Buffalo Sabres Player Report Card: Tyson Kozak -
Total Season Stats: 3-2-5 in 21 Games Age: 22 Contract Status: RFA In his third pro season, Tyson Kozak took another step in his development. The 22-year-old center made his NHL debut on December 5th and spent a majority of the season bouncing back and forth between Rochester and Buffalo. What he lacks in size (5’11”) and point production, the former 7th rounder in 2021 makes up for with grit and determination. Kozak was one of Buffalo’s first call ups when there were injuries to their forwards. When called upon, he was a serviceable 4th line center who consistently went to the dirty areas to make an impact. He averaged .24 points per game while averaging only 10:29 of ice time per game. Those numbers won’t jump out at anyone, but it’s a good start for a young center getting his first look at a 4th line role in the NHL. He scored

After ending season on tear, will Sabres’ James Reimer retire or keep playing? -
BUFFALO – James Reimer’s superb goaltending down the stretch for the Sabres showed he possesses the talent to return for his 16th season. Even at 37, an advanced age, he ranked among the NHL’s hottest netminders, compiling a gaudy 8-2-0 record from March 23 until the season ended, including a career-long seven-game winning streak. His win total during that torrid stretch was tied for first in the league with Los Angeles Kings goalie Darcy Kuemper, ... 2025 Buffalo Sabres Player Report Card: Jason Zucker -
Total Season Stats: 21 G, 32 A, 53 pts, +4 in 73 games Age: 33 Contract Status: Signed a 1-year, $5 million contract last year, signed a 2-year, $4.75 million AAV extension in March 2025 This season was Jason Zucker’s first in Buffalo, coming in as a free agent and signed to bring some experience to the top six forward corps. The heavy pricetag was a surprise to many with the pressure on the player to perform, and he came through in a big way for the Sabres. His 53 points this season was his second highest career haul in one campaign, only behind the 64 he had managed with the Wild back in 2017-18. Over the year Zucker played all over the top three lines, starting on the third line with Ryan McLeod and Jordan Greenway. He was on the top line for some time with Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch, which then became Dylan Cozens centering him and Thompson. He ended the season with Pey

Sabres prospect Devon Levi, Jiri Kulich star as Rochester Amerks grab 2-0 lead -
ROCHESTER – Don’t let the 4-0 final fool you. For much of Sunday afternoon, the Americans held a tenuous grip on a one-goal lead against the Syracuse Crunch. After rookie winger Konsta Helenius put them up early, the Amerks could’ve unraveled in the second period of Game 2 of their AHL North Division semifinal series. The Crunch buzzed around goalie Devon Levi, outshooting the home team 15-6 and also hitting the post during a late ... 2025 Buffalo Sabres Player Report Card: Josh Norris -
Total Season Stats: 21-14-35 in 56 Games (1-1-2 in 3 games with Sabres) Age: 25 Contract Status: Signed through 2029-2030 at $7.95 Million AAV Sabres fans were clamoring for a significant shakeup to the roster after watching the season circle the drain before the calendar even read 2025. They got one on the trade deadline when Dylan Cozens and Dennis Gilbert were traded for Josh Norris and Jacob Bernard-Docker. All eyes were on Norris to see what impact he could have on Buffalo. Unfortunately, a pre-existing injury was aggravated after a few games with the Sabres, and his season ended pre-maturely. He is signed for 5 more seasons, so he will have a chance to make a real first impression next season, barring a significant offseason injury or trade. Norris is a certified top 6 center

2025 Buffalo Sabres Player Report Card: Beck Malenstyn -
Total Season Stats: 4 G, 6 A, 10 pts, -16 in 76 games Age: 27 Contract Status: Signed through 2025-26, $1.35 million cap hit This season was Beck Malenstyn’s first in Buffalo, following last summer’s mid-draft trade from the Washington Capitals. Malenstyn went on to sign a two-year contract with the Sabres, avoiding arbitration. All in all, I liked what I saw this season from Malenstyn. He played a physical game and brought an edge to the team. He recorded 191 hits, second-most on the team (Connor Clifton had 208) and far more than most of the forwards. He averaged 14.31 hits per game, most of any of the full-time Sabres players this season. He was also a strong piece on the forecheck and did a good job of playing the defensive forward. His 63 blocked shots were second-most among Sabres forwards, behind only Alex Tuch (116), and he averaged 4.72 blocked shots

2025 Buffalo Sabres Player Report Card: Zach Benson -

The 13th overall pick in 2023 now has two full NHL seasons under his belt. We have seen flashes of his skill but so far his production has been minimal, yet expected from a teenager. A kid who earned his way into the NHL at just 18, despite reservations from fans and NHL insiders. Some of the Buffalo brass may have even had their doubts. Draft Lottery Coming Up Soon -
When and Where Will We Know Buffalo’s Pick? After 14 seasons without any playoffs for this Sabres’ franchise, some of us are almost apathetic towards the draft now. Sure, we have acquired some good players over the years but none of them has delivered us a post season. Many more have gone on to bigger and better things. Others have drifted into obscurity. Buffalo could grab a player in 2025 who will help us very soon, there is a chance of that. But the better odds are on that player being selected needing development time of 3 or 4 years. It is also a possibility that the Blue and Gold brass move the pick for immediate help now. Many of us hope for a combo, draft for the future while using assets to level up the current team. We are about two weeks away from finding out where the Sabres will officially select on draft day. The first 16 positions in the 2025 NHL Draft will be determined on either May 5th or May 6th, TSN Hock
