Nate Corbet Returns to Rockets Following Los Angeles Kings Camp -
KELOWNA, BC — The Kelowna Rockets announced today that defenceman Nate Corbet has been released from his amateur tryout with the Los Angeles Kings and Ontario Reign. Corbet, 20, attended rookie and training camp with the Kings organization before continuing with the Reign, Los Angeles’ American Hockey League affiliate. The Calgary, AB product appeared in one preseason game with Ontario, scoring one goal and recording a fight. Corbet is coming off a strong 2025-26 season with Kelowna, where he served as an alternate captain and recorded three goals and 11 assists for 14 points in 49 regular-season games, while adding 118 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 187-pound left-shot defenceman added one goal and three assists in nine playoff games before appearing in all three of Kelowna’s games at the 2026 Memorial Cup, where he added an assist. The Blackhawks made a number of moves this summer to bolster their roster. But the real impact is going to be made by the growth from the young core — and two incoming rookies who have been very impressive thus far.
