‘No definitive plan’ on Werenski’s future in Columbus, GM says -
There has been chatter that Werenski might ponder moving elsewhere as his While notable American players like Quinn Hughes and Brady Tkachuk (and possibly Dylan Larkin) have been on the move recently, many wonder if another high-end U.S.-born player might be the next to be traded. However, his boss isn’t showing his cards. When speaking to the media on Thursday, Columbus Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell didn’t give much of an update on what the team’s future plans are with defenseman Zach Werenski. “Two years left [on his contract],” Waddell said. “But just want to get a good sense of where he’s at, and we’ll see how that goes and take it from there.” Waddell mentioned that he does plan to chat with Werenski soon to discuss the path the two sides should take moving forward, but notes that he doesn’t have a particular agenda. “I think for right now, there are matters that should stay internal. LISTA: ALLA svenskar som gått i förstarundan -
Förra året valdes tre svenskar i förstarundan.

Sharks trade William Eklund to Ottawa Senators -
The San Jose Sharks have traded the team’s longest tenured forward to the Ottawa Senators. This afternoon, the Sharks organization announced it traded William Eklund, Kasper Halttunen and Brandon Svoboda to the Senators for the 9th overall pick in the upcoming draft. The deal comes one day after the Senators acquired the ninth overall pick (along with a few others) from the Florida Panthers for Brady Tkachuk. What the Sharks lose in this deal Obviously, the biggest loss in this deal is Eklund. The 23-year-old winger is coming off a “down” season in which he had just 53 points in 78 games. Of course, there are a few caveats to that. Eklund, while reportedly healthy, was coming off a summer in which he had surgery on his arm. Fans will remember he suffered a brutal cut at the World Championship that knocked him out of the tournament before it really got started. He was ready to start the season out of training camp, but he didn’t seem like his complete self unti

How Chicago deployed its centers last season, how they performed, and what that means going forward -
It was a little after 4 p.m. Chicago time in the second week of October when the puck dropped on the 2025-26 season, with the Hawks on the road against what was then the two-time defending Cup champions in the Florida Panthers. Visiting teams announce their starters first, and new head coach Jeff Blashill played it safe. Rather than putting superstar Connor Bedard out for the opening draw — as I’m sure the TV networks were hoping — he went with his shutdown line. He started Jason Dickinson, centering Ilya Mikheyev and Colton Dach, supported on the back end by Connor Murphy and Ethan Del Mastro, with Spencer Knight in net. The Panthers had already been decimated by injuries by that time. Superstars like Barkov and Tkachuk were already out injured, so their top line that night was Conn Smythe winner Sam Bennett centering Brad Marchand and Carter Verhaeghe, supported on the back end by Niko Mikkola and old friend Seth Jones, with Sergei Bobrovsky

Before I start just wanted to say there will be some important and tough decisions to be made. Mainly cap decisions. Big one is letting Alex Tuch go. It’s for the best. With our emerging young forwards it just doesn’t make any real sense to tie up around $10-$11 mill in one forward who is good for what 60-66 points? Even during the season if he didn’t get hot late he would’ve ended with 20 some goals and 50 some points. That much cap in a guy who will be 30 before the season starts and is already trending in the wrong direction isn’t what this franchise needs. This is literally a setup for another Jeff Skinner type contract debacle, to which we are still suffering with. Also Bowen Byram and his agent are at it again so yup he’s gone. In my perfect off-season I would love to re-sign Byram to a $9 mill contract but that’s not what he wants. He wants to be the de facto #1D. He won’t get that here. He’s a must trade this offseason. Waiting and waiting is just goin
