The Florida Panthers dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to the Carolina Hurricanes at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, NC last night. Brady Tkachuk opened the scoring at 4:31 of the firsr period by smacking a feed from Sam Reinhart by Brandon Bussi from the left circle. Aleksander Barkov drew the secondary assist on Tkachuk’s third of the preseason. Bradly Nadeau quickly countered for the Hurricanes, flipping the rebound of former Panther Mike Reilly’s soft shot from the left point past Jacob Markstrom to tie the tilt. Barkov would restore Florida’s lead eighteen seconds later when he took a pass from Brady Tkachuk and beat Bussi with a low wrister for his second goal in as many games. The second assist on the goal went to Seth Jones. Unfortunately, that would be it offensively for the Cats for the rest of the night and Carolina would even it up again when Justin Robidas solved Akira Schmid with an over the shoulder shot at the 11:25
