Oil Kings Score Three Unanswered to Defeat Calgary in Final FedGas Pre-Season Battle -
Stony Plain, Alta. - After a 4-2 loss in Red Deer on Friday night, the Edmonton Oil Kings wrapped up their 2026 FedGas preseason with a 4-2 win on Saturday night in Stony Plain against the Calgary Hitmen. "I thought the effort for complete 60 minutes was a lot better than the game in Red Deer," said Oil Kings Head Coach Jason Smith. "I think in the 3rd period, we did some good things in Red Deer. But tonight was more complete and the guys played more along the structural lines and the system line that we want to try to play with." Dominic Grieco set the tone early for Edmonton with a massive check through centre ice, just a few seconds in, much to the enjoyment of the Stony Plain faithful. However, just a minute into the game, Calder Hamilton opened the scoring for Calgary. The Oilers Kings responded though just two-and-a-half minutes later off the stick of Tucker Tullikopf. But with just 7 seconds to play, the Hitmen retook the lead on the powerplay off

Salisbury brings confidence to Rebels camp -
By DANNY RODE - A year ago Nathan Salisbury was an invite to Red Deer Rebels training camp. All he did was grab the attention of the coaching staff to the point they kept their eye on the talented six-foot-three, 185-pound netminder out of Edmonton. He played last season with the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the AJHL where he was solid in 34 games finishing with a 3.21 goals-against-average, a .902 save percentage and a 17-14-1 record. He was named to the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s North All-Rookie Team. He impressed enough that the Rebels signed the 18-year-old on June 3. Salisbury returned to the Rebels camp this year and proved last year was no fluke, doing everything in his power, so far, to grab a spot on the club’s regular season roster. But Nathan isn’t one to assume anything in his battle with veterans Matthew Kondro and Peyton Shore. “I guess it’s on the back of my mind, but I’m not really focused on that,” he said. “They are my teammates and we do the bes
