Salisbury brings confidence to Rebels camp -
By DANNY RODE - A year ago Nathan Salisbury was an invite to Red Deer Rebels training camp. All he did was grab the attention of the coaching staff to the point they kept their eye on the talented six-foot-three, 185-pound netminder out of Edmonton. He played last season with the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the AJHL where he was solid in 34 games finishing with a 3.21 goals-against-average, a .902 save percentage and a 17-14-1 record. He was named to the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s North All-Rookie Team. He impressed enough that the Rebels signed the 18-year-old on June 3. Salisbury returned to the Rebels camp this year and proved last year was no fluke, doing everything in his power, so far, to grab a spot on the club’s regular season roster.
