Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson Talks Playoffs, Kantserov’s Arrival, Bedard’s Health, More -
Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson spoke with the media to kick off the 2026-27 Blackhawks season on Thursday. After hearing from him just a couple days ago at the press conference introducing Connor Bedard as the new captain of the Blackhawks, the questions now were more focused on the immediate future — the new season beginning. There were some off-ice elements that came up as well, including the new CBA kicking in and some of the limits placed on teams. But we’ll start with the big picture: Davidson was asked about the Blackhawks players talking about making the playoffs this season. “Obviously in years past, my thought has always been, ‘yes, we are looking to get there and it will come at a point.’ … Transitioning out of last year in the exit meetings with the players, they voiced [the playoff goal] to us walking out.

Ranking the Flyers’ 5 best contracts right now -
We’re officially in a new era of the NHL with the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) kicking in as of Wednesday, Sept. 16. We saw a bunch of teams rush to sign players to eight-year contracts on Tuesday, as that was the last day that contracts of more than seven years were legal. The Flyers were not one of those teams, although Danny Briere & Co. signed Tyson Foerster to an eight-year, $56.8 million ($7.1 million AAV) contract earlier this summer. And that got us thinking about which current Flyers contracts look most favorable after an offseason that saw a new normal across the league, thanks in part to the Flyers’ massive offer sheet to Leo Carlsson. So let’s take a look at the five best contracts the Flyers have on the books.
