Kingston, ON- It’s the Halloweekend, and the Kingston Frontenacs are celebrating by hosting the Peterborough Petes for the second time in October. It was on the second of October that the Frontenacs beat the Petes by a score of 5-3. Back at the beginning of the month, Nolan Snyder was named the first star, and Matthew Minchak made 43 saves in the win. Since then, the Frontenacs have had a very successful October, going 6-2-0-0 in eight games. Two of those wins came last weekend against the Ottawa 67’s. In an incredibly successful weekend, the Frontenacs outscored the 67’s 10-3 over the 120 minutes of hockey. Friday night, they won 4-2, and Sunday in Ottawa, they dominated 6-1, backed by impressive goaltending from Royden Smith, who made 38 saves in the win.

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) is mourning the loss of André Lacroix, a two-time Red Tilson Trophy winner with the Peterborough Petes who went on to become an original Philadelphia Flyer and the all-time scoring leader of the World Hockey Association (WHA). He died Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the age of 81. Born June 5, 1945, in Lauzon, Que., Lacroix arrived in Peterborough after a season with the Montreal Junior Canadiens and quickly established himself as one of the most dominant forwards in the Ontario Hockey Association junior ranks. Over two seasons with the Petes in 1964-65 and 1965-66, he put up 239 points (85 goals, 154 assists) in 97 regular-season games. In 1964-65 he finished with 119 points (45-74–119) in 49 games. The following year he led the league with 120 points (40-80–120) in 48 games, capturing the Eddie Powers Trophy as scoring champion and the William Hanley Trophy as the league's most sportsmanlike player. Peterborough Petes General Manager and Vice President of Operations Michael Oke announced today that the team has acquired 2007-born goaltender Matthew Koprowski from the Owen Sound Attack in exchange for a conditional 15th round pick (SOO) in 2028. Koprowski, a 2007-born goaltender from Komoka, ON, was originally selected by the Attack in the fourth round, 72nd overall, of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Elgin Middlesex Canucks U16s. In January of 2024, Koprowski signed with the Attack after playing in 34 games with the Komoka Kings in the GOJHL. Over the past two seasons, Koprowski has played in 51 games for Owen Sound, holding a record of 16-23-6, while also putting up a 4.32 GAA and a .870 SV%. In 2025, Koprowski attended St. Louis Blues training camp as an undrafted free agent invite, after attending Toronto Maple Leafs development camp earlier that summer.

On Thursday, October 1, the Peterborough Petes hosted the Erie Otters at the Peterborough Memorial Centre for the only time this season. The game was presented by PETE 99.7. The game was a special one for Petes OA forward Lucas Karmiris. Karmiris was acquired by Peterborough from the Brampton Steelheads in August of 2025, getting injured in training camp and battling multiple knee surgeries that kept him out for the 2025-26 season. Tonight, Karmiris suited up for the Petes for the first time, playing in his first OHL game since April of 2025. With 37 seconds left in the first period, he fired a shot past Erie goaltender David Egorov, scoring his first goal for Peterborough in his return to the ice.
