broadstreethockey.comRoad to 2027 Memorial Cup: 67 reasons why Ottawa is making championship noise -
The Ottawa 67’s and the OHL playoffs are about as synonymous as Henrik and Daniel Sedin – where one is, you can often expect the other to be nearby. The 2024-25 season was a blip on the radar in that regard, but perhaps it’s what’s given an increased push to a 67’s team that appears on the verge of contending for OHL and Memorial Cup championships. A second-round loss to the eastern conference champion Barrie Colts was nice step forward for the 67’s last season, but it’s also given them extra motivation in their continued pursuit of the ultimate junior hockey hardware. This season hasn’t lacked turnover for the 67’s, who are without seven of their top 12 scorers from a season ago, including their top two. But a 7-1-2-0 start to the campaign has quickly turned things around and brought eyes to the 67’s as a team to be reckoned with in the OHL. Their offseason saw them bring in the experienced Jaiden Newton from the OHL-finalist Barrie Col

Barrie, ON - It’s the second time this season the Frontenacs will play a three-in-three set, and it all starts Thursday night when Kingston makes the trip north of Toronto to take on the Barrie Colts. The Frontenacs are coming off an unusual weekend at Slush Puppie Place. October 2, they beat the Peterborough Petes by a 5-3 final score. Then, on October 4, they dropped a game to the Erie Otters by a final score of 8-6, unfortunately highlighted by the defensive struggles that have plagued the Frontenacs early in the 2026-27 campaign. Since then, Kingston has had a full week of practice to work on their defensive hockey before what hypothetically could be a “get right game” for the Fronts. Historically, the Sadlon Arena in Barrie has not been kind to Kingston. Over the past five seasons, the Fronte
