Peterborough Petes General Manager and Vice President of Operations MIchael Oke announced today that the team has acquired left handed defenceman Jacob Xu from the London Knights in exchange for North Bay’s 4th round pick in 2028 and a 6th round pick in 2030.   “Jacob is a big, left handed, physical defenceman who moves very well,” said Oke. “He’s a player that we took notice of during his U16 season ahead of the OHL draft and have watched closely during his time in the OHL. We believe that he will be a solid addition to our blueline as we prepare for next week’s home opener.”   Xu, a 2008-born, left handed defenceman, was originally selected by the Kitchener Rangers in the 8th round, 157th overall, of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. Last season, the Richmond Hill native split time with the Rangers and the London Knights, after being acquired by London midseason.

Parker Smith and Brayden Bennett each had one goal and one assist, while Rowan Henderson and Kingston Harris also scored for Sudbury. Goaltender Paolo Frasca provided 30 saves at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens. NORTH BAY, Ont. — Defenceman Oskar Konobelj has signed a development and education agreement with the North Bay Battalion, the Ontario Hockey League club announced Thursday. Konobelj, a left shot who stands six-foot-four and weighs 192 pounds, was a sixth-round pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection from the Ottawa Jr. 67’s U16s. Owen Sound, Ont. - The Owen Sound Attack took on the Barrie Colts on Saturday afternoon at the Bayshore in a spirited hard fought game, with the Colts coming away with a 3-2 shootout victory. Alex Lisi and Jace Voortamn had goals for the Attack, while Lucas Matheson and Declan McNally answered for the Colts with Maxim Shirochenkov scoring the only goal in the shootout. The Florida Panthers selected right wing Shamar Moses in the fifth round (129th overall) of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft held at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. After putting up 25 points in his first year in the OHL with the Barrie Colts, Moses began his draft season in Barrie, where he played five scoreless games before he was traded to the North Bay Battalion. He totaled 12 goals and 36 assists in 61 games with North Bay. He collected three assists in five postseason games as the Battalion was eliminated in the first round by the Brantford Bulldogs. As is customary, Moses attended his first development camp with the Panthers in Fort Lauderdale after being drafted and then returned to the Sunshine State for the 2025 NHL Prospect Tournament in Wesley Chapel, FL in September, where he assisted on a goal against Carolina in the first game and added another helper in the second game against Tampa Bay. We received well over 100 votes and after looking at the list, I can honestly say there are a lot of good reasons to be hopeful about the present and the future of the San Jose Sharks. A quick note about our process before I jump into the honorable mentions. While more than 100 people voted, not everyone filled out the entire form. Some people only chose their top ten Sharks. That’s okay. The trouble is, that makes the math a bit harder. The Brantford Bulldogs and North Bay Battalion have completed a trade, with the Bulldogs acquiring 2008-born forward Quinn Kipfer from the Battalion in exchange for Brantford’s 12th-round selection in the 2028 OHL Priority Selection. Kipfer spent the past two seasons with the Stratford Warriors of the GOJHL, recording 36 points (14-22–36). He led the Warriors in playoff scoring last season with 19 points (12-7–19) over 12 games. Kipfer was originally selected by North Bay in the fifth round, 90th overall, of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection and appeared in two games with the Battalion during the 2025-26 season.
