OTTAWA – The Ottawa 67’s have announced that assistant coaches Norm Milley and Paul Stoykewych have each signed two-year contract extensions through the 2027-28 Ontario Hockey League season. "I am very happy to have both Norm and Paul back on our coaching staff," said Ottawa 67’s Head Coach Dave Cameron. "Norm’s experience and understanding of the game are invaluable. He’s become one of the most respected coaches in the OHL and brings a wealth of knowledge to our group. Paul offers a fresh perspective, and his personable, detail-oriented approach has made a significant impact on our players’ development. Together, they are outstanding members of our staff." BRAMPTON, ON - The Brampton Steelheads announced the signing of their fifth-round pick in this year's 2026 OHL Priority Selection, John Montanino, to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.  Selected 84th overall, the 6-foot-1, 201-pound defenceman is a product of the Little Caesars U15 AAA.  The Sarnia, Ontario native enjoyed a strong 2025-26 campaign with Little Caesars U15 AAA, recording 5 goals and 10 assists in 15 regular season games. A smart, dependable defenceman, Montanino excels in his own zone and uses his combination of size, strength, and skating ability to his advantage at both ends of the ice. Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond commented after signing Montanino, “John is a big, puck-moving defenceman that can move up and down the ice very well. He competes at a high level, which makes him hard to play against in the D-Zone. We look forward to seeing John in the blue and white.” Montanin

The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) is proud to recognize the 80 players drafted by clubs in the Western Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League, and the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League who have been invited by Hockey Canada to its 2026 U17 World Hockey Challenge Development Camp, taking place July 17–21 in Oakville, ON, at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. The roster includes eight goaltenders, 24 defencemen, and 48 forwards, drawn from all three CHL member leagues: 29 players drafted by Western Hockey League teams, 31 selected by Ontario Hockey League clubs, and 20 drafted by Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League organizations. The Sarnia Sting announced today that the club has signed goaltender Ivan Tkach-Tkachenko (tuh-KACH tuh-CHEN-koh) to a Standard Player Agreement. The Sting selected Tkach-Tkachenko with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 CHL Import Draft. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound left-catching goaltender from Chernolesovsky, Russia, spent the 2025-26 season with Ufa Tolpar of the MHL, posting a 2.80 goals-against average and .894 save percentage in 27 games. Tkach-Tkachenko was also selected by the Utah Mammoth in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2025 NHL Draft. The signing adds another highly regarded prospect to the Sting roster as the organization continues to build toward the 2026-27 campaign. Tkach-Tkachenko's experience at the highest levels of junior hockey, combined with his NHL pedigree, provides the Sting with a strong presence between the pipes heading into training camp. 25 OHL players have been invited to take part in the 2026 USA Hockey Boys National 17 Festival, running from July 7-13 at the Northtown Center in Amherst, New York. This event gathers top American-born 2009-born players registered with USA Hockey for a week of elite development. While structured as a district-based tournament, the emphasis is on individual growth and showcasing talent through on-ice drills, small-area games, and off-ice training like strength and conditioning, team building, nutrition, and mental skills.
