Firebirds Weekly Roundup, October 19-25 -FLINT — The Firebirds started the week with a record of 6-2-1-0, with three games across three days on the schedule. Before the puck dropped for the first game against in-state rival Saginaw, the newest OHL Power Rankings were released. Additionally, the club announced that they had signed free agent forward Anton Stackow, who had attended the last two Firebirds training camps and appeared in two preseason contests. The busy weekend began at the Dow Event Center with a Friday night tilt. The Birds’ offense started hot, netting three unanswered tallies in the first period, two of which were on power plays. Martins Klaucans, Jimmy Lombardi, and Brady Smith each struck paydirt for Flint. From there, it was all Saginaw, scoring twice in the middle frame and once more in the third. The five-minute overtime was scoreless, so the teams headed to a shootout. Both Lombardi and Darian Anderson bea
