Calgary, Alta. – The 2026 NHL Scouting Combine concluded this past weekend, with 90 draft-eligible players from North America and Europe participating. Vancouver Giants forward Mathis Preston found his way into the top 10 across a number of different categories, including isokinetic squat (second), anaerobic fitness – peak power output (T-2nd), 10m sprint (T-3rd), pro agility right (T-3rd), bench press (fourth), pull-ups (T-6th), and pro agility left (T-8th). Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club have announced the signing of 2008-born forward Logan Stuart to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement. “It means a lot to sign with the Hurricanes, and I couldn’t be more excited,” said Stuart. “I believe coming to Lethbridge is going to be what will prepare me the best for college hockey and beyond. I can’t wait to get things started.” Stuart, 18, was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the second-round (36th overall) in the 2023 WHL US Priority Draft. The Manhatten Beach, California, product spent the 2025-2026 season with the US National Team Development Program skating in a combined 80 regular season games amassing 45 points (13g-32a) along with 16 penalty minutes. Stuart amassed 15 points (3g-12a) along with a plus-11 rating with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition. Kelowna, B.C. – Western Hockey League Commissioner Dan Near announced today, on behalf of the WHL Board of Governors, that Carrie Brown – Executive Assistant for the Kelowna Rockets – has been named the latest recipient of the WHL Distinguished Service Award for the 2025-26 WHL season. The Lethbridge Hurricanes, Brandon Wheat Kings, Swift Current Broncos have completed a trade involving WHL playing rights to 2007-born forward Jake Stuart, 2007-born forward Hudson Kibblewhite, 2007-born defenceman Josh McGregor and two 2028 WHL Prospects Draft selections. Stuart, 19, was originally selected second overall by the Wheat Kings in the 2022 WHL US Priority Draft. The Manhatten Beach, California, product has split the 2025-2026 season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Sioux Falls Stampede in the United States Hockey League where he collected 16 points (6g-10a) along with 31 penalty minutes in 51 regular season games. The WHL Playoff MVP award is presented to a player deemed to have made the strongest contribution to his Club throughout the WHL Playoffs, as voted by members of the media.
