Kelowna, B.C.- The 2025-26 season is, undoubtedly, the greatest in Everett Silvertips history. And that's no small feat coming from one of the league's most consistent franchises. While the 'Tips bask in the glow of WHL Championship glory and gear up for their Memorial Cup debut, we're looking back on five key moments that helped make it all possible. A 'Tip' of the hat The Silvertips entered 2025-26 as the reigning regular-season champions, but had designs on winning it all from the get-go. Everett was hot out of the gates with three hat tricks in the first two weeks. After falling behind 3-0 in the second period to the Wenatchee Wild in the season opener, Zackary Shantz bagged his first career hat trick to force a shootout where Shantz, NHL Draft-eligible Matias Vanhanen and Nolan Chastko all lit the lamp to earn a 4-3 comeback win. Kelowna, B.C. — The Kelowna Rockets have signed Madden Daneault to a WHL Scholarship & Development Agreement. The Rockets selected Daneault first overall in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft. The 15-year-old forward from Red Deer, Alberta spent the 2025–26 season with the Red Deer Rebels U15 AAA of the AEHL, where he served as the teams captain and led the league in goals (65), assists (84), and points (149) in only 34 regular-season games. He added 22 points (11G, 11A) over nine playoff contests. Daneault also appeared in three games with the Red Deer Chiefs U18 AAA, recording two goals and four assists for six points. The 5'11", 172-pound right-shot forward earned AEHL U15 First All-Star Team honours in both 2024–25 and 2025–26, along with back-to-back John Reid Memorial MVP awards. Lethbridge, Alta. - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club have announced the signing of 2011-born forward Artello Forestal to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement. “This is a special moment for me and my family,” said Forestal. “Signing with the Hurricanes means a lot to me. I’ve worked hard to reach this level, and I’m honoured to be part of this organization. It’s exciting to officially sign, and I can’t wait to get started.” Forestal, 14, was drafted by the Hurricanes in the first-round (14th overall) in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft. Prince Albert, Sask. – Everett Silvertips forward Julius Miettinen has been named the 2026 WHL Playoff MVP. The WHL Playoff MVP award is presented to a player deemed to have made the strongest contribution to his Club throughout the WHL Playoffs, as voted by members of the media. The prospect of the Seattle Kraken is the first Finnish-born player to earn WHL Playoff MVP honours, and only the second import player to accomplish the feat, following former Kelowna Rockets star Leon Draisaitl, who made history in 2014. The 6-foot-3, 207-pound centre helped Everett claim the franchise’s first Ed Chynoweth Cup. The Silvertips clinched the Ed Chynoweth Cup with a 7-2 win over the Eastern Conference Champion Prince Albert Raiders in Game 5 of the 2026 WHL Championship Series presented by Nutrien.
