On paper, it wouldn't be crazy to see this series as a potential Memorial Cup matchup. The regular-season champion Everett Silvertips are coming off the winningest season in franchise history, while the Kelowna Rockets have caught fire as they prepare to host the 2026 Memorial Cup. Both teams are coming off statement first-round sweeps. Everett found some playoff absolution by downing the rival Portland Winterhawks, who had eliminated the Silvertips for the last three years. Kelowna flexed just how far their group has come by taking out their longtime foes, the Kamloops Blazers. The Kamloops Blazers are ready to catch fire. Kamloops will play for the Ed Chynoweth Cup for the first time since 2023, when the B.C. Division club hosted the Memorial Cup. Despite being idle on Sunday afternoon, the Blazers qualified by nature of an 8-5 Everett Silvertips win against the Portland Winterhawks. Top 2026 NHL Draft eligible forward JP Hurlbert has brought a shot of adrenaline to Kamloops' scoring punch. For the third time in franchise history, Everett has locked down the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy, which is awarded annually to the league's regular-season champions. The U.S. Division juggernaut clinched first overall with a 4-3 overtime win against the Penticton Vees on Saturday night, making Everett's ninth consecutive victory. With a 54-7-2-1 record, Everett has also tied the franchise record for most wins in a single season. However, the 2006-07 Silvertips achieved their 54-15-1-2 record back when the WHL played a 72-game schedule. After a 2-3-0-0 start, Everett shot to the top of the league standings by the start of December and rarely ceded their first-place ranking thanks to stingy defensive play and breakout performances from its forward ground. Seattle always knows how to put on a 'Sho'. For a second straight year, the Thunderbirds played host to the annual South Sound Police vs. Fire Charity Cup on February 28. This time, the Law Dogs came out on top in a heated tilt in front of more than 1,000 fans. "The competition is really high," Thunderbirds senior account executive Dylan Lockhart said. "It means a lot to these guys when they're out there playing. There's one or two fights a year that break out because of it. I know that it really gets the crowd going.
