The Gervais-Munger Awards for Academic Perseverance are presented annually to one player from each QMJHL team who has distinguished himself through his efforts and academic perseverance. Throughout the 2025-26 regular season, the QMJHL will be highlighting one player that is eligible for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on a weekly basis. The standout prospect of Week 21 of the regular season is once again Moncton Wildcats defenseman Tommy Bleyl. This is his fourth nomination as Prospect of the Week this season. The blueliner from Glenville, New York, finished the week with two goals, two assists and a +5 rating to help his team earn two wins. On Friday night, Bleyl and the Wildcats visited the Mooseheads and left Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre with a convincing 11-1 victory. In addition to firing three shots on net, Bleyl was one of four Wildcats players to record three or more points in the game, finishing the night with a goal, two assists and a +3 rating. The latest Videotron Player of the Week in the QMJHL is defenseman Alex Huang of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. The 18-year-old from Rosemère, Quebec scored twice and added five assists as the Sags went a perfect 3-0-0-0 on the week. On Wednesday night in Baie-Comeau, Huang recorded an assist on the eventual game winning tally early in the second period and the Saguenéens earned a 3-1 triumph over the Drakkar. The third-year veteran also finished the game with a +1 rating. Back home on Friday night, Huang scored his seventh goal of the season midway through the first period to help pace the Sags to their fourth straight triumph, a 6-4 decision over the Drakkar in the back end of the home-and-home series. The latest Videotron Player of the Week in the QMJHL is Newfoundland Regiment winger Marek Danicek. The 19-year-old from Kladno, Czechia scored four times and added three assists as the Regiment went undefeated in a trio of road games on the week. On Wednesday night in Halifax, Danicek scored a key second period goal before assisting on a third period insurance marker to help propel the Regiment to a 7-4 victory over the Mooseheads. For his efforts, Danicek, who ended the evening with a +2 rating, was named the game’s second star. On Friday night in Charlottetown, the first-year forward scored the eventual game-winning goal midway through the third period, then added an insurance marker 67 seconds later as the Regiment rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Islanders 5-2. Twelve of the QMJHL's regular season games will air on TVA Sports during the NHL's Olympic break, from February 6 to 22. The first game on the schedule, tonight at 7 p.m., will see the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies take on the Québec Remparts, live from the Vidéotron Centre. Four Remparts games will be televised, while the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, second in the overall standings, will be featured three times: February 11 at 7 p.m., February 19 at 7 p.m., and February 22 at 4 p.m. Chicoutimi is in the QMJHL Top 10, along with Blainville-Boisbriand, Rouyn-Noranda, Drummondville, Shawinigan, and Val-d'Or, all of which you can see in the 12 featured games.
