For the third time in franchise history, Everett has locked down the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy, which is awarded annually to the league's regular-season champions. The U.S. Division juggernaut clinched first overall with a 4-3 overtime win against the Penticton Vees on Saturday night, making Everett's ninth consecutive victory. With a 54-7-2-1 record, Everett has also tied the franchise record for most wins in a single season. However, the 2006-07 Silvertips achieved their 54-15-1-2 record back when the WHL played a 72-game schedule. After a 2-3-0-0 start, Everett shot to the top of the league standings by the start of December and rarely ceded their first-place ranking thanks to stingy defensive play and breakout performances from its forward ground.
