SERIES PREVIEW: (7) Regina Pats vs. (2) Medicine Hat Tigers -
No team has repeated as WHL Champions since the dynastic Kamloops Blazers went back-to-back in 1994 and 1995. But the Medicine Hat Tigers would sure like to join them. After picking up the club's sixth Ed Chynoweth Cup win and a trip to the Memorial Cup Final, the Tigers clawed out a, somehow, even stronger regular season than the 2024-25 edition of the team. Medicine Hat rolls into the postseason as the WHL's top scoring team with 348 goals in 68 contests, with a 38-goal dropoff to the second-place team- the East Division champion Prince Albert Raiders. Eight Tigers have surpassed 20 goals, headlined by Bob Clarke Trophy winner Markus Ruck, who led the league with a 108-point (21G-87A) campaign. His twin brother, Liam, was just behind with 45 goals and 104 points. The duo has garnered considerable attention with their stock climbing ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft, but there's star power to be found up and down the Cats' lineup. SERIES PREVIEW: (7) Seattle Thunderbirds vs. (2) Penticton Vees -
It's the new kids on the block versus one of the WHL's winningest franchises of the last decade. The Penticton Vees are making their first trip to the WHL Playoffs after a record-breaking introduction to the league. Penticton set a new mark for wins by a CHL expansion team in its inaugural season with 44, while capturing the B.C. Division title. They'll face the 2023 WHL Champion Seattle Thunderbirds, who heated up with a 7-1-1-1 record in the final month of the regular season to lock down the seventh seed in the Western Conference. Penticton swept the regular-season series, but only edged Seattle in the shootout in their lone meeting after the 2026 WHL Trade Deadline. The Vees are sixth among all WHL teams in goals for, thanks to six 20-plus goal scorers, third in goals against, and boast the WHL's top penalty kill. New York Islanders prospect Jacob Kvasnicka has been sensational with a 35-goal campaign, while Ryden Evers matched his goal mark and snagged a contract with the Sea

SERIES PREVIEW: (5) Brandon Wheat Kings vs. (4) Calgary Hitmen -
If the regular season series between the Calgary Hitmen and Brandon Wheat Kings is any indication, fans are in for a hotly-contested showdown in Round One of the 2026 WHL Playoffs. The fourth-seed Hitmen are back in the dance after a Game 7 heartbreaker in the second round in 2025. Despite seeing plenty of roster turnover with fan favourites like Ben Kindel and Carter Yakemchuk graduating to the professional ranks, Calgary has stayed consistent in a top-heavy Central Division. Four Hitmen players have surpassed 20 goals, including 2025 Pittsburgh Penguins selection Kale Dach and lights-out trade pickup Julien Maze. Maze, 18, is tied for ninth in goals among all WHLers with 38 (24 of which came with Calgary). Regina Pats punch ticket to the 2026 WHL Playoffs -
Pitter Pat-ter! The Regina Pats have qualified for the 2026 WHL Playoffs with some help from the out-of-town scoreboard. Despite suffering a 4-2 setback to the Brandon Wheat Kings in their final tilt of the regular season, Regina clinched by nature of a 4-1 Moose Jaw Warriors loss to Swift Current on Saturday. This marks Regina's first trip to the postseason since 2023, when Chicago Blackhawks alternate captain Connor Bedard was leading the Pats' attack. The East Division underdogs have been steadily heating up in the second half of the regular season, highlighted by a 7-3-0-0 run from February 11, 2025, to February 28, 2025. Regina has three players who've cracked 20 goals in 2025-26, led by veteran Keets Fawcett's 30-goal campaign. Alternate captain Caden Brown leads the Pats in scoring with 61 points (28G-33A) in 64 games, while 2026 NHL Draft-eligible Zachary Lansard is cruising with 24 goals and 32 assists for 56 points in 68 outings. Everett Silvertips capture second consecutive Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as WHL regular-season champions -
The Everett Silvertips have gone back-to-back as the best in the WHL's regular season. For the third time in franchise history, Everett has locked down the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy, which is awarded annually to the league's regular-season champions. The U.S. Division juggernaut clinched first overall with a 4-3 overtime win against the Penticton Vees on Saturday night, making Everett's ninth consecutive victory. With a 54-7-2-1 record, Everett has also tied the franchise record for most wins in a single season. After a 2-3-0-0 start, Everett shot to the top of the league standings by the start of December and rarely ceded their first-place ranking thanks to stingy defensive play and breakout performances from its forward ground. Entering Saturday's action, Everett ranked third among all WHL teams in goals for while allowing the fewest goals. The Silvertips have strung
