Ranking NHL Team’s 2026-27 Prospect Pool | w/ Steven Ellis -
Daily Faceoff prospect analyst Steven Ellis joins Daily Faceoff Live to break down his latest NHL prospect pool rankings, ranking all 32 organizations from top to bottom. Steven explains why the Chicago Blackhawks sit at No. 1, how the Calgary Flames have made one of the biggest jumps in the rankings, and why the Nashville Predators have quietly built one of the deepest prospect groups in the NHL. The guys also discuss whether Chicago could actually have too many young players competing for NHL opportunities, Calgary's need for a true high-end offensive star, and the potential of Ethan Wittenbach and the Flames' developing prospect group. At the other end of the rankings, Steven explains why the Dallas Stars are 32nd despite having a strong NHL roster, and why he is actually more concerned about the Vegas Golden Knights' future than Dallas' when considering the age of their current roster and the strength of their prospect pool. Plus, Steven discusses Trevor Connelly, Cameron Schmi

Jeff Greenberg to the Red Wings? Is Detroit Making a HUGE Mistake? -
Is Jeff Greenberg really the frontrunner to become the next General Manager of the Detroit Red Wings? An article from MLive’s Ansar Khan adds another layer to what is becoming a very interesting—and potentially concerning—GM search in Detroit. https://www.mlive.com/redwings/2026/08/should-red-wings-put-a-baseball-man-in-charge-of-hockey-ops.html Khan states that Steve Yzerman was fired, rather than simply choosing to step away. Now Jeff Greenberg, currently running the Detroit Tigers, continues to emerge as a leading candidate to take over the Red Wings. And that raises some questions. If Chris Ilitch already believes Greenberg is the guy, why go through this lengthy search process? Why bring in an outside consulting firm? And most importantly: **does hiring Greenberg actually make the Detroit Red Wings better?** Greenberg has built a strong reputation for his analytical approach and use of advanced statistics, but nearly his entire professional career has been in baseball. Those veteran additions could help a lineup that could also see some top prospects push for NHL ice time. Trade rumors swirled around St. Louis last year, with Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas, Colton Parayko and Jordan Binnington all linked to other teams at some point. A No. 1 Ranking! Donato’s Value, Boisvert Boxing, Frondell BTS, and Other Blackhawks Bullets -
Let’s open our Tuesday by talking a little about one of the Blackhawks’ forwards who hasn’t been talked about much this offseason: Ryan Donato. There have been a lot of fans pointing to his scoring dropping from his career-best 31 goals to 15 — more in line with his career averages — last year as a negative in the Blackhawks’ offense. But there’s a little more to unpack there. One significant thing that impacted that for Donato last year was his linemates. He spent the biggest portion of his even strength ice time (459:43) with Ilya Mikheyev last year. He also skated 244:00 with Jason Dickinson. Behind those two? Donato skated between 100-200 minutes with six different Blackhawks forwards. Connor Bedard (72:21) was not among those six. The

Almost everything that could have gone wrong did — except Jonathan Toews appearing in all 82 regular-season games. Winnipeg had an interesting summer, making a few strategic additions while losing a limited number of players (including Toews). Will the Chicago Blackhawks Be Stanley Cup CONTENDERS by 2030? -
Daily Faceoff recently projected the NHL standings all the way out to 2030, with the Chicago Blackhawks landing at No. 8 overall and in the Stanley Cup contender tier. Jay Zawaski, Mario Tirabassi, and Greg Boysen break down the projection and debate whether the Blackhawks are truly on track to become Stanley Cup contenders by 2030. What will Chicago’s core look like by then, and could Connor Bedard and the next wave of young talent have the Blackhawks competing for a championship? #nhl #hockey #chicagoblackhawks

Tim Stützlelta suoraa puhetta Brady Tkachukin valinnasta – näin hän reagoi kapteenin lähtöön -
Tim Stützlen mielestä Ottawa Senatorsin on jatkettava eteenpäin Brady Tkachukin lähdön jälkeen. NHL-seuran kapteeni siirtyi Florida Panthersiin alkukesästä veljensä Matthew Tkachukin seurakaveriksi. Senators on sittemmin vahvistanut rivejään San Jose Sharksista vaihtokaupassa saadulla ruotsalaishyökkääjällä William Eklundilla ja Chicago Blackhawksista hankitulla maanmiehellä Andre Burakovskylla. Stützle jää kaipaamaan Tkachukia, mutta saksalaishyökkääjän katse on tulevassa. – Se on hänen […]

Top Center Options, NHL Expanding in Houston and Atlanta? and Other Blackhawks Bullets -
Kalen Lumpkins at the Chicago Tribune made the cases for Anton Frondell and Frank Nazar to be the Blackhawks’ No. 1 center until Connor Bedard returns from injury. The one name I’ll throw into the mix that hasn’t been talked about or considered much outside of this space is Roman Kantserov. Remember: he played center primarily in Russia. There’s a chance he could see some action down the middle if he shows he’s more comfortable there early in camp. I’ll note again that Kantserov and Frondell are left-handed while Nazar and Bedard are right-handed. They could ultimately

Tigers GM Jeff Greenberg Emerges as Front Runner for Red Wings GM Role -
The Detroit Red Wings are looking for a new general manager, and Tigers GM Jeff Greenberg is reportedly a strong candidate for the position. Greenberg's connection to the Red Wings has been noted by NHL insiders, and his unique background in both baseball and hockey, where he has experience as a player and executive, adds merit to his candidacy. Although it's unusual for executives to switch sports, Greenberg's previous work with the Blackhawks and his geographic proximity to the Red Wings could facilitate a seamless transition.

Perception vs. Reality, Fantasy Keepers, Pavelski Joins the Badgers, and Other Blackhawks Bullets -
Let’s open our Friday with some more discussion about the current Blackhawks issue of perception vs. reality. Yesterday, I shared my thoughts on the league-wide front office confidence poll at The Athletic. In that, I was fairly critical of the macro discourse surrounding the franchise; the Hawks are far from a rudderless ship, though many national/league-wide writers paint it as such. In thinking about the results of that poll, I was mindful of another poll at the same outlet. Earlier in the month, Scott Powers and Mark Lazerus did a poll that, based on their beat, targeted Blackhawks fans specifically. I wrote about
