BRANTFORD, ONTARIO – Brantford Bulldogs General Manager Spencer Hyman has announced the signing of Michigan commit, defenceman Abe Barnett, from the United States National Team Development Program to a Standard Players Agreement. Barnett, a product of Wilmette, IL, had his rights acquired by the Bulldogs from the Ottawa 67’s on January 9th, and now officially joins the organization. Arriving after two years with the National Team Development Program, Barnett has been a tower of power, skating in 180 games across the U17, U18 & USHL levels. In the 2025-26 season, Barnett skated in 87 games between the U18 & USHL sides collecting 15 points from the blueline while posting a plus-21 rating. The 6’3”, 198lbs left shot rearguard additionally skated in all three games at the CHL USA Prospects Challenge skating to a plus-1 rating. Kelowna, B.C.- It was Christmas in May at Prospera Place with an all-colour jersey matchup between the Kelowna Rockets and Everett Silvertips in the Memorial Cup round-robin finale. However, the Silvertips wouldn't give up a single goal, much less a lump of coal. The shorthanded Silvertips came out flying with a 4-0 over the Rockets to advance to the 2026 Memorial Cup semifinal. Everett has not lost consecutive games in 2025-26. Anders Miller denied all 28 shots he faced for his first Memorial Cup shutout and his sixth clean sheet of the 2025-26 season. "I feel like all the support I had going for this game has just, like, helped me motivate myself to come in there and just kind of play my game, trust my game," Miller said postgame. Conference finals action continues this week, with one team trying to avoid a sweep and another series still very much in the balance. First up, Tuesday night is Game 4 between the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights, where an injured Avalanche team is just trying to find a way to extend the series after falling behind 3-0. Vegas has controlled most of the matchup so far, but Colorado still has enough high-end talent to possibly make things uncomfortable for at least a night. Game 5 would be Thursday if needed. Then Wednesday the action swings east as Game 4 between the Carolina Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens takes place, with Carolina holding a 2-1 series lead. Outside of the lopsided opener where Montreal’s speed caught a rusty Hurricanes team looking unprepared, the last two games have been much tighter and Carolina has managed to slowly tilt the edge in its favor thanks to its structure and depth. Now the Canadiens will try to even the series back

The Grand Rapids Griffins season is over after a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Chicago Wolves, and there are a LOT of questions surrounding how this playoff series ended. The Griffins once again outshot Chicago, this time by a margin of 35-21, but the result was the same. Elimination. Michal Postava was absolutely incredible during the regular season, finishing with a .937 save percentage and a 1.71 goals against average. Even his overall playoff numbers remained respectable at a .912 sv% and a 2.09 GAA. But over the final three games, things changed dramatically.
