Which NHL teams improved the most this offseason? Ranking all 32 -
From most value added to least, here’s how each team has changed this summer. >Out: Emil Heineman, Logan Mailloux, David SavardIf you’re a Canadiens fan, it’s time to get excited. Only one team has improved more over the last summer externally and it’s likely that few teams will improve more internally, given the collective age of Montreal’s roster.AdvertisementThat doesn’t necessarily mean the Canadiens will improve over last year’s finish, but it does mean they are far less likely to regress with significantly more substance behind their results. The big get is Noah Dobson, who has the potential to be Lane Hutson’s Devon Toews. Dobson is a true top-pair defenseman, someone who adds tremendous upside to Montreal’s back end with his puck-moving ability. He’s a substantial get on his own, but the fact that it also means no more David Savard almost doubles the joy. Between the two, it’s a 16-goal swing. It’s a similar effect in giving up Emil Heineman for Dobson, and then trading for Zack

Morning Skate: The Heat Goes On -
Good morning! Welcome to another uhhh...nice...ish...day...in Boston. The offseason has slowed mostly to a crawl, with only the Penguins trying to make anything happen by getting Arturs Silovs from the Canucks in exchange for Chase Stillman and a 4th rounder. Given how bad Pittsburgh’s goaltending has been over the past couple of years, he may end up being asked to play a game or two, and it likely saves him time on a potential trip to the Olympics, as he’s almost certainly on the short list for the Latvian team after a successful AHL campaign. As for us B’s fans? Eh. The most you could say is some people have reported potential trades that never happened, like Swayman going to the Oilers or something like that, or the usual spin of people trying to work themselves up into believing the bottom six will somehow allow this team to be better. Can’t be much worse than it already was, so let’s let them be optimistic. AD There was some noise about Jordan Kyrou potentially, but it

The Revamped Lineup For The San Jose Sharks -
from Tom Gulitti of the NHL's website, The San Jose Sharks scratched off, perhaps, the last item on their offseason to-do list when they signed forward Jeff Skinner to a one-year, $3 million contract on Friday. Skinner was the latest veteran added to complement and help guide the Sharks’ promising young core through the pivotal next phase of their rebuild. After stripping down the roster and basically starting over from scratch with high draft picks such as forwards Macklin Celebrini (No. 1 in the 2024 NHL Draft), Will Smith (No. 4 in 2023 draft) and William Eklund (No. 7 in 2021 draft) and defenseman Sam Dickinson (No. 11 in the 2024 draft), San Jose went into the offseason with a plan to reinforce that group with experienced players to assist with their development and, hopefully, become more competitive.... The team picked up Leddy off of waivers from the St. Louis Blues and signed Orlov to a two-year contract. Adding the two players offers San Jose a lot of options on defense. For one thing, despite being left-shot defensemen, both players are capable of playing on either side, something that will give the Sharks options when it comes to the team’s lineup next season and fix the lack of depth on the right-side.
