If you were to look at the all-time shootout goal leader for the Flyers, it probably wouldn’t surprise you it’s Claude Giroux with 30. Next up is his longtime partner on the ice in Jakub Voracek with 15. Sean Couturier (14), current Flyers general manager Danny Briere (12) and Mike Richards (11) round out the top five. Introduction The excitement each year when we do this project is coming up with an order for the top players in the organization, with new additions and great seasons from others shifting how relative value is viewed from summer to summer. But while we all fret over who to move into the top spots, voters also make their task of ranking a high number of players easier by shifting a few players to the lowest ranks to limit the options they have to mull over higher up. Each year we like to show the full list of players in the project, first looking at those outside of the official Top 25 Under 25 to show where everyone landed. The first reveal is a block of players who are viewed to have very little chance of making it to the NHL, but the group always includes some of the newer draft prospects that no one knows enough about to put them above those who’ve been in the system for a year or two. Porter Martone looked like he could do no wrong when he joined the Philadelphia Flyers at the end of last season. BRAMPTON, ON – The Brampton Steelheads have announced the signing of forward Stepan Kuryachenkov, the club's 68th overall selection in the 2026 CHL Import Draft, to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The 2008-born forward was originally selected 59th overall by the Swift Current Broncos (WHL) in the first round of the 2025 CHL Import Draft. Kuryachenkov, a 6-foot, 176-pound forward from Ufa, Russia, recorded 28 points (12-16–28) as a 16-year-old with the Swift Current Broncos last season. He has also represented Russia internationally at the U16 and U17 levels. Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond commented after Kuryachenkov’s signing. "We are excited to see Stepan in the Steelheads jersey this season. He is a very skilled player that can really push the offence. He’s hard to play against and will compete for all 200 feet of the ice."

BRAMPTON, ON - The Brampton Steelheads announced the signing of their fifth-round pick in this year's 2026 OHL Priority Selection, John Montanino, to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.  Selected 84th overall, the 6-foot-1, 201-pound defenceman is a product of the Little Caesars U15 AAA.  The Sarnia, Ontario native enjoyed a strong 2025-26 campaign with Little Caesars U15 AAA, recording 5 goals and 10 assists in 15 regular season games. A smart, dependable defenceman, Montanino excels in his own zone and uses his combination of size, strength, and skating ability to his advantage at both ends of the ice. BRAMPTON, ON – The Brampton Steelheads announced the signing of their 7th overall pick in this year’s 2026 CHL Import Draft, goaltender Oskari Ahmajarvi, to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. Ahmajarvi, a native of Nurmijärvi, Finland, became the first goaltender selected by the Brampton Steelheads in the 2026 CHL Import Draft when the club chose him 7th overall in the first round. The 6-foot, 181-pound netminder was the first goaltender taken in the draft after an impressive season with Keikko-Espoo in the U20 SM-Sarja league, where he posted a 2.34 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in 29 appearances. Goulet, of Sydenham, ON, brings over two decades of bench experience to Brantford with a career beginning in 2004 as head coach Rideau St. Lawrence Kings of the HEO before moving to the Junior A level with the Kingston Voyageurs for three seasons as both assistant coach & assistant general manager, winning an OJHL Championship in 2009. The Brampton Steelheads announced today the signing of free agents Ben (left) and Peyton (right) Collins to OHL Scholarship and Development Agreements. Peyton, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, stands at 6-foot-0 and 157 pounds. The forward starred with the Nashville Jr. Predators U16 AAA during the 2025-26 season, recording 22 goals and 52 assists for 74 points in 56 regular season games. 25 OHL players have been invited to take part in the 2026 USA Hockey Boys National 17 Festival, running from July 7-13 at the Northtown Center in Amherst, New York. This event gathers top American-born 2009-born players registered with USA Hockey for a week of elite development. While structured as a district-based tournament, the emphasis is on individual growth and showcasing talent through on-ice drills, small-area games, and off-ice training like strength and conditioning, team building, nutrition, and mental skills.
