Their record stood at 9-2-1-0, including points in eight straight games. Overage goaltender Trenten Bennett had just been named the OHL Goaltender of the Week for his two wins, including his first shutout of the season. The Brampton Steelheads have acquired 16-year-old Tyler Cooper from the Erie Otters. BRAMPTON, ON – The Brampton Steelheads have completed a trade with the Erie Otters, acquiring Tyler Cooper in exchange for a second-round pick (KIT) in the 2028 OHL Priority Selection and a fifth-round pick (BAR) in the 2029 OHL Priority Selection. Cooper, 16, joins the Steelheads after spending the past two seasons with the Otters, recording 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points in 75 career regular-season OHL games. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward recorded 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in 63 games during his rookie season in 2025-26. A native of Lake Forest, Illinois, Cooper was originally selected by Erie in the second round, 34th overall, of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.

In Friday’s post-game interview, the game against the Generals was described as a fans' favourite but a coach's nightmare.
