Bruins' playoff odds still great, but lack of scoring is huge concern -
The Boston Bruins have not yet secured a spot in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and a lackluster weekend that included a regulation loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning and an overtime defeat to the Philadelphia Flyers didn’t do much to help their cause. However, their chances of achieving that feat over the next week still remain pretty high.HockeyStats’ model gives the Bruins a 98 percent chance of reaching the postseason. MoneyPuck’s model gives the Bruins a 98 percent chance, too. window.addEventListener("message",

Ottawa's Push for The Playoffs -
from Alex Adams at Sportsnet,Outside forces have been good to the Ottawa Senators but, more importantly, their inside forces have been even better. The big three stars — Brady Tkachuk and Tim Stutzle, now joined by the return of a healthy Jake Sanderson — have sprung the Senators to the brink of the playoffs.“We want playoffs!” and “Brady, Brady!” chants punctuated the Canadian Tire Centre on Sunday during a monumentally important and convincing 6-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. The game was potentially a preview of a first-round matchup. As a result, as of Sunday's end of business, the Senators sat one point ahead of their nearest rivals in a wild-card spot to make the playoffs.Stars got to be your stars, and the Senators sure have good ones.“You always think back to you being a kid, and you never expect that to happen ever in your life,” said Tkachuk, about the fans chanting his name. “And, yeah, I mean, it still brings a

Canadiens vs. Devils Top Six Minutes: The winning streak ends at eight -
First period The crowd chants “Cau-field!” as Cole steps on the ice for his first shift. When this crowd last saw him, he had 44 goals. The Devils are checking the Canadiens’ sticks very tightly to start this game, not allowing anyone space to shoot the puck. It’s needed strategy with Jacob Markstrom in net. Montreal will need to work a little harder to test the netminder tonight. Kaiden Guhle gets his stick in Jack Hughes’s feet as the forward loses the puck on his zone entry, and now the Devils will enjoy some extra space on a power play. Montreal is leaving no passing lanes open through the middle, so the best the Devils can do is boost their shot total with shots into Fowler’s mid-section. Some of these teams in the Metro must have Corsi bonuses. Joe Veleno gets the most dangerous chance by stripping the puck and going in alone on Markstrom. Just as Guhle’s pe

The Montreal Canadiens secure a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs -
By virtue of the Detroit Red Wings’ loss to the Minnesota Wild this afternoon, the Montreal Canadiens have clinched a playoff spot, set to head to the post-season for the second consecutive season. With the loss, the Red Wings can now achieve a maximum of 98 points, two fewer than the 100 the Canadiens improved to last night in New Jersey. They were the only team currently outside the playoff picture that had a mathematical possibility to pass Montreal, because the Philadelphia Flyers, who also have the chance to hit 100 points, would lose out to Montreal on the first tiebreaker of regulation wins. The final step of the process being taken by the Red Wings is appreciated, but the Canadiens did the majority of the work during an eight-game winning streak, seven of those coming in regulation, to make the actual clinching event a formality. From being in a tight wild-card race just two weeks ago, they’re now comfortably in a top three seed in the Atlant
