The San Jose Sharks are looking for redemption tonight after putting up a subpar effort in Calgary just a few nights ago. The Sharks are in Chicago visiting the Blackhawks for stop number three on the road trip. It doesn’t get easier from here, so this really feels like a game that the Sharks need to win. This is the first of three meetings between the Sharks and the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks are probably out of the playoffs with a 21-25-9 record and just 51 points, the Blackhawks are seventh in the wild card race right now. That’s not out of the mix, but it’s also not close. That said, a good run can make all the difference. Chicago is 2-6-2 in its last ten games. The Blackhawks have lost the team’s last two in a row, most recently a 4-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday. That said, there are bright spots in Chicago’s season. Working off that roster, there’s still a lot to do in the offseason. In this fanpost, I’ll be going over the moves I’d like to make in what looks to be a very busy offseason for Jarmo. Team USA is hoping to go one step further than their Four Nations Faceoff performance, which they lost to Team Canada in overtime. Penguins prospect Dach named Sandman WHL Rookie of the Week -
Calgary, Alta. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Calgary Hitmen alternate captain Kale Dach has been named Sandman WHL Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 8. The Pittsburgh Penguins prospect posted six points (4G-2A) in four games as the Hitmen went 4-0-0-0 on an East Division road trip. This marks the second time Dach has earned the weekly honour. He was also named WHL Rookie of the Month for December. The Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. product kicked off the road swing with a bang as he registered two goals and an assist in a 7-1 win over the Saskatoon Blades on February 3, 2026. With the Blades up 1-0 in the first period, Calgary took advantage of a three-on-two situation as Dach slid to the back door to one-time a pass from Caine Wilke past Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Evan Gardner. Artemi Panarin spoke to the media following the trade before the Olympic Roster Freeze! Full Press Release: The LA Kings have acquired forward Artemi Panarin from the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Liam Greentree, a conditional third round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft and a conditional fourth round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft. The Rangers retain 50% of Panarin’s contract through the 2025-26 season. In addition, Panarin agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $11,000,000 through the 2027-28 season. Panarin, 34, has skated in 52 games for the Rangers this season, recording 19 goals and 38 assists as part of his 11th consecutive 50-point campaign (19-38=57) with 17 even-strength goals, three game-winning goals, two power-play goals, 158 shots and 14 penalty minutes (PIM).
