Obří párty, nervy a nadšení.

2026 player review John Klingberg: A reasonable defensive gamble -
When the 2025-26 season started, General Manager Mike Grier knew that he needed to add a veteran defenseman who could move the puck and feed his group of dynamic young forwards. He also knew that the high-end defensive free agents weren’t going to run to San Jose, a team that is still a few years away from true contention. So the general manager had to get creative. He had to make offers to second-tier defensemen and players with the hopes that they might pan out in the end. Which is how the Sharks ended up landing right-shot defenseman John Klingberg on the first day of free agency. Klingberg’s 2025-26 production Unfortunately for the Sharks and the defenseman, things didn’t always turn out the way both sides had hoped. Klingberg was in and out of the lineup last season, sometimes because of injury and other times because he was a healthy scratch. Ultimately, he played 56 games for the Sharks, with his final game coming in the Sharks’

2026 NHL Entry Draft – T McGee’s Seven Round Mock -
We’re under a month away from the 2026 NHL Entry Draft, and it’s time to take a peek at some of the players that could fall to the Buffalo Sabres. Here’s a bumper seven-rounder from T McGee for your weekend reading. DBTB –  A Seven Round Mock Draft?  In this economy?  Actually, I can’t stand that line, so let’s just say it was originally a Five Rounder but with inflation, it’s now Seven.  Not that anyone noticed.  No, all people want to talk about is the Sabres breaking the playoff drought…the Sabres winning a playoff series…almost winning a second one?  Losing in OT in Game 7?  That sounds about right. Doesn’t anyone care about the children?  Seriously though, I appreciate that maybe, maybe, the days of worrying for weeks and months about who the Sabres will draft is past.  As fans, we have bigger fish to fry.  And honestly, I loved every second of the playoff run.  But I, even in the thick of

Letter Grades for the Players, 2025-26 Season – Part 1 of 2 -
After Great Team Success, How Do the Sabres Break Down Individually? Today we take a look at the individual performances of each player and assign a letter grade accordingly. Each Sabre graded must meet the 20 games played with Buffalo minimum. So no Konsta Helenius or Sam Carrick and several others. These grades are for the regular season only, not playoffs. We will split the eligible players into two randomly listed sections. This will be part 1 of 2. Owen Power (81-8-21-29 +9) Grade B Power made some strides this season with his defensive game, especially late in the year. (and on into the playoffs) He provided a bit more physicality into the middle pairing and seems to close the gap quicker on his opponent with tighter coverage. His offense fell off to just 29 points but I feel that will bump up again soon as he rounds out his game. Lots to like here as Power continues to grow. Beck Malenstyn (81-7-7

Bruins offer sheet explainer: Potential targets for rarely used method -
Offer sheets have been part of the NHL for a long time, but actually seeing them used as a method to acquire a player from another team is pretty rare.General managers don’t like using offer sheets. For some reason, we almost never see players presented with an offer sheet from a rival team. In fact, only 12 players have signed an offer sheet in the salary cap era (2005-06 to the present), and just four of those 12 actually changed teams as a result. The last two players to be poached via an offer sheet were Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway. The Blues signed both of them to offer sheets in 2024 and the Edmonton Oilers, who were in a tough salary cap situation, did not match either one. Bruins general manager Don Sweeney was asked about offer sheets during his team’s end-of-season press conference earlier this month.“I mean, they’re part of the CBA,” Sweeney said May 6. “St. Louis executed one, executed two, to t

Sabres vs Canadiens: Player of the Series and Stats Analysis -
Buffalo’s postseason run ended in heartbreaking fashion with a Game 7 overtime loss This article should have been written and published a few days ago, but I wanted to take the time to step away and process all the feels following the disappointment of the Buffalo Sabres getting knocked out on Monday night. That still hurts. There is no other way to put it. After a grueling, chaotic, and utterly unpredictable seven-game war against the Montreal Canadiens, the Buffalo Sabres’ first playoff run in 15 years came to a crushing end in overtime of Game 7. It’s a bitter pill to swallow for a young team that showed immense heart, especially after fighting back from a 3-2 series deficit with a historic 8-3 blowout in Game 6 to force the winner-take-all finale at KeyBank Center. Ultimately, the bounces didn’t go Buffalo’s way when it mattered most, and the Canadiens’ opportunistic 5-on-5 play and high-danger finishing proved to be the differenc

2026 Graduating Class: Barrie Colts -

Nathan MacKinnon's Cup Run Continues -
