Cossa SHUTOUT #5! Shine Hat Trick + Buium Stays HOT | 7 Minute Wings -
Team USA remains unbeaten at the Winter Olympics, and Dylan Larkin recorded his first point of the tournament with an assist as the Americans continue to roll through group play. Canada and the USA both remain unbeaten, while Team Germany is fighting uphill — but Moritz Seider continues to grind, once again logging some of the heaviest minutes on the roster and leading by example even as Germany’s run has been disappointing. Then the focus shifts to Grand Rapids — and the Griffins put on an absolute clinic. The Griffins shut out the Texas Stars 5-0, and it was a milestone night across the board: ⭐ Dominik Shine scored a hat trick, tallying goals #18, #19, and #20 on the season. 🚨 Shai Buium stayed red hot with his first goal of the year, and now has 5 points in his last 3 games. 🥅 Sebastian Cossa was perfect, stopping 26 of 26 shots for his AHL-leading 5th shutout of the season. 🔥 Gabriel Seger also found the back of the net in the win. Raymond & Pettersson Look ELECTRIC at the Olympics… Could Detroit Ever Pull It Off? -
Lucas Raymond just had a MONSTER game for Team Sweden at the Winter Olympics — and it wasn’t just a goal and two assists. Raymond became just the 4th Swedish NHL player to record 3 points in an Olympic game featuring NHL players, and what stood out most was the chemistry he showed with Elias Pettersson, including an assist on one of Pettersson’s two goals. And with Pettersson’s name continuing to swirl in trade rumors… it’s impossible not to wonder: What if Steve Yzerman could somehow bring Elias Pettersson to Detroit? What would that mean for the rebuild? And what could a Raymond–Pettersson duo look like long-term in a Red Wings uniform? ⚠️ Important note: This video is purely speculative. There is no report that a deal is close — and in reality, a trade like this would be extremely difficult to pull off. But IF Yzerman ever found a way… it could be one of the most defining moments of Detroit’s rebuild. 🎥 I also covered this exact topic in a deeper breakdown a few weeks ago — check it

Shai Buium is Heating Up! (4 Points in 2 Games) | Raymond Olympic update | 7 Minute Wings -
While the NHL is shut down for the Olympic break, the Grand Rapids Griffins are still rolling — and one Detroit Red Wings defensive prospect is starting to heat up. In this 7 Minute Wings episode, I’m breaking down the Griffins’ 4-2 win over the Texas Stars, but the real focus is on defenseman Shai Buium, who recorded two assists in this game — giving him four points in his last two games, with 6 total in 13 games since returning from injury. Detroit doesn’t have a deep pool of defensive prospects in the system, and that makes Buium’s development even more important. Injuries have derailed his progress multiple times, but the opportunity is there if he can stay healthy and prove he’s ready for a real shot at the NHL level. In my opinion, Buium has the tools to potentially become a bottom-pairing NHL defenseman if he can keep building momentum. I’ll also briefly touch on the Olympics, where Lucas Raymond picked up his first point for Team Sweden in a 4-1 loss to Finland. 🏒 In this episo

Olympic Update: USA Wins, Seider Shines in Germany’s 3–1 Victory -
Both Team USA and Team Germany hit the ice yesterday — and both teams came away with a win. In this 7 Minute Wings Olympic Update, I’m breaking down the early performances of two of Detroit’s most important leaders: 🇺🇸 Dylan Larkin (Team USA) Larkin played just over 10 minutes, recorded one shot on goal, and now finds himself in one of the toughest roles in the tournament: battling for ice time on a stacked USA roster. With elite talent up and down the lineup, every shift matters — and Larkin will need to make an impact in limited opportunities. 🇩🇪 Moritz Seider (Team Germany) Germany opened the tournament with a 3–1 win over Denmark, and Seider once again proved why he’s one of the most trusted defensemen in hockey. ⭐ Seider led all German skaters in ice time ⭐ Picked up an assist ⭐ Logged heavy minutes in big situations — exactly what Red Wings fans are used to seeing Seider continues to turn heads in his 5th NHL season, and it’s a reminder of how massive that 2019 draft pick was. Everett, 42-6-2-1, has won 10 consecutive games to sit first in the WHL's overall standings with a chance to repeat as Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy winners. With 17 games remaining in the regular season, the Silvertips are on pace for the team's first 50-win campaign since 2006-07, when the league still played a 72-game schedule. Detroit Red Wings first-rounder Carter Bear, Seattle Kraken pick Julius Miettinen and veteran Zachary Shantz have all hit the 20-goal mark, while 2026 NHL Draft-eligible

Red Wings Trade Target? Trochek Could Be a PERFECT Fit in Detroit -
The New York Rangers have reportedly made Vincent Trochek available, and while this is still speculative… the fit in Detroit feels real. Trochek is currently a 2nd line centerman, and for the same cap hit as Andrew Copp, the Red Wings could potentially add a player with more offensive upside, a strong two-way game, and the kind of playoff-style edge Detroit has been missing down the middle.
