As soon as the Philadelphia Flyers selected center Jett Luchanko with the 13th overall pick at the 2024 NHL Draft, it was a controversial decision. Instead of going with the online consensus of defenseman Zeev Buium or Finnish center Konsta Helenius, the Flyers went with the speedy, detailed center out of Guelph. Unfortunately, it’s not looking to hot but there is a world where his stock goes back up to some previous hype levels fairly soon. And now, he’s getting a slight demotion in our Top 25 Under 25 ranking, from No. 6 down to No. 10. Guelph, ON – Guelph Storm General Manager George Burnett announced that 2026 second-round pick Finley Butler has signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the hockey club. There hasn’t been a huge amount of turnover from the 2025-26 version of the Flyers to the one slated for training camp in September. There’s been a few guys put out to pasture, while others have entered the mix in the hopes they can help put the Flyers into the playoff hunt again and possibly put in a much deeper run. After an impressive rookie season, Jaakko Wycisk discusses helping welcome Declan McNally to Guelph, representing Canada, and building toward the 2027 Memorial Cup.

Guelph, ON – General Manager George Burnett announced that import forward Adrien Bartovic has signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the hockey club. The 6’1, 185 lbs forward was originally selected in the first round (42nd overall) by the Brantford Bulldogs in last year’s CHL Import Draft. Bartovic’s rights were acquired by the Storm earlier this summer along with fellow countryman Vladimir Dravecky. Last season, the forward from Pardubice, Czechia, recorded 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points in 29 games with the Bili Tygri Liberec U20 squad, which ranked him second on his club in points. The 2007-born forward also suited up in 17 games in the Slovakian men’s league, where he notched three goals and an assist.
