It's a big day at the Sleeman Centre in the third installment of the 2026/2027 Highway 7 Rivalry Series! Sunday is Spyke's Halloween Bash and Big Brothers Big Sisters Day sponsored by Original Composites & Fiberglass, formerly Owens Corning. There will be speciality bucket hats available for $10.00 during the game at the Community Corner. Bucket hats can also be purchased before the game by clicking here. All proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph and Centre Wellington. Fans are invited to wear their costumes to the game and take part in Trick-or-Treating throughout the Sleeman Centre during the game. Halloween candy will be available at Spyke’s pop-up on the concourse behind section 115, Spyke’s Sport Shop, the Guelph Storm Trackers table, and the Magic 106.1 table on the concourse. The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) today unveiled its Week 4 edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2026-27 season, with the top four from last week remaining the same in week 4. The Ontario Hockey League’s (OHL) Guelph Storm (6-2-0-0) won both sides of a home and home with Owen Sound this weekend to remain in the top spot, while the Québec Maritimes Junior Hockey League’s (QMJHL) Québec Remparts (7-1-0-0) rode an offensive surge by James Scantlebury to their seventh consecutive win and second spot in the top 10. Flint opened the week with a 5-2 win over Kitchener on Wednesday in which Cooper Williams scored the first two goals of his OHL career and Nick Bogas added his first plus three assists for a four-point night, then went a perfect 3-for-3 on the power play to beat the 10th-ranked Sarnia Sting 6-4 on Saturday. Brady Smith scored twice on the man advantage in that one and Williams finished with a goal and two assists, while Mason Courville stopped 34 of 38. After a strong start to the season, the Knights are facing their first real test of adversity after suffering their second straight loss Friday night, falling 4-3 to the Erie Otters in a shootout finish. Still missing from the lineup was defenceman Maksim Sokolovskii, who remains week-to-week with a lower-body injury. The Knights started strong, building a two-goal lead with goals from Eloan Le Gallic and Cohen Bidgood. 19-year-old Bidgood has been setting a great example for this new-era Knights team. Now in his third year in London, his progression has been fun to watch. After recording 14 goals last season, Bidgood has already scored four in six games this year, continuing to prove himself as an important piece of the lineup. Nick Bogas, who hails from nearby Royal Oak, Michigan, netted his first OHL goal and pitched in a trio of helpers to lead the Birds to a commanding 5-2 victory. The Frontenacs are coming off an unusual weekend at Slush Puppie Place. October 2, they beat the Peterborough Petes by a 5-3 final score. Then, on October 4, they dropped a game to the Erie Otters by a final score of 8-6, unfortunately highlighted by the defensive struggles that have plagued the Frontenacs early in the 2026-27 campaign. FLINT - The Flint Firebirds propelled themselves to a 5-2 victory over the Kitchener Rangers on Wednesday night at the Dort Financial Center. The Birds buried two power play goals, Nick Bogas tallied four points, and Mason Courville posted 22 saves to secure the first home win of the season. HOW IT HAPPENED: The Rangers opened up the scoring late in the first period with a power play goal from Luca Santala. Tanner Lam received a pass from Luca Romano at the top of the faceoff circle. Lam found Santala at the back door to quickly snap the puck past Mason Courville to put the Rangers up 1-0 heading into the second period. FLINT — The Firebirds entered the third week of regular-season play with a record of 2-1-0-0. First up was a familiar West Division foe, the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, who brought a 4-1-0-0 record into the tilt. Flint had played the fewest games to date (three) when the puck dropped in the sold-out Dort Financial Center on Saturday evening. In fact, 17 of the OHL’s 20 franchises had played at least five games while the Firebirds sat idle at three until the weekend. The Birds got off to a hot start in Game 4 of the year, with Brighton, Michigan native Darian Anderson (NYR) scoring his fourth goal in four games to put Flint on top 1-0. The soon-to-turn 18-year-old goaltender has shut out the opposition in both his games to date, stopping all 44 shots he's faced. The latest came Sunday, a 19-save shutout of the Kitchener Rangers. "It's a lot more fun knowing the boys can put a couple of pucks in the net every night," he said of the team's high-powered offence. It was for the Soo Greyhounds, when overage rearguard Spencer Evans left Saturday’s 5-4 win over North Bay with a second period upper-body injury. Fortunately for the Greyhounds, who begin a two-game trip on Friday in Sarnia (7:05 p.m.), the Stittsville, Ont., native avoided anything serious. The LA Kings will have their prospects scattered across several leagues this season. By my count, the Kings have 40 prospects in their system. With so many prospects to track, we will make a list of where each prospect will play in the system. Undecided (3) The Kings must decide on three of their prospects. Forward Vojtěch Čihař and defenseman Henry Brzustewicz could be loaned back to their junior teams, but are also eligible to play in the AHL. Čihař, 19, is a European import in the WHL, so the CHL-NHL transfer agreement rules don’t apply. If the Kings feel he is physically mature enough, then we could see him on the Ontario Reign. Kingston struggles in first trip to Brantford -
Brantford, ON- The Frontenacs hit the road for the second game of the weekend, heading down the 401, through the Greater Toronto Area and stopping in Brantford for a date with the Bulldogs at the TD Civic Centre. It was not the start the Frontenacs wanted on Saturday. Bulldogs forward Jack Torr started an onslaught of goals for Brantford. Scoring five times in the first period, the Bulldogs took a commanding lead into the intermission. Ty Robar would help the Frontenacs take a little momentum into the locker room. In his first game of the season, he would spin and fire his first goal of the year past Bulldogs goalie Chase Petrova. It was a better second period for the Frontenacs. Matthew Minchak settled down Kingston defensively, and offensively it was Alex McLean who got it started for the Fronte

Kitchener, ON - The Kingston Frontenacs will wrap up their first three-in-three weekend of the 2026-27 season on Sunday evening when they visit the Kitchener Rangers at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium for a 6:00PM puck drop. Sunday’s matchup marks Kingston’s third game in as many days following Friday’s 5-3 loss to the Sarnia Sting and Saturday night’s contest against the Brantford Bulldogs. Kitchener, ON- The Frontenacs finished their weekend with a trip to the Kitchener Auditorium to face the defending Memorial Cup champions, the Kitchener Rangers, for the first time this season. The script was similar to Saturday night in Brantford when the Frontenacs surrendered the first two goals of the game. Royden Smith made his 4th start of the season and settled into the game after being tested a lot early. Later in the first period, Alex Misiak scored his second goal of the season, swinging the momentum in favour of the Frontenacs heading into the second period. Carrying that momentum, Landon Wright and Nolan Snyder both scored for the Frontenacs to give Kingston their first lead of the game. They held the lead late into the second period before the Rangers struck with 43 seconds left in the frame, tying the game at three heading into the third.
