Three Former OHL Players Advance to NHL Officiating System -
The Ontario Hockey League is pleased to congratulate officials Nick Isaacson, Hayden Verbeek and Chris Martenet, who have been hired by the National Hockey League on minor-league officiating contracts for the 2026-27 season. All three arrive in the NHL officiating system after previously playing in the Ontario Hockey League before returning to the league as officials. Isaacson and Martenet were both selected to participate in the 2025 CHL/NHL Officials' Development Camp in St-Hyacinthe, Que. last November, where they worked directly with NHL officiating supervisors through classroom meetings, video review and game assignments. Less than a year later, both have earned the opportunity to advance into the professional officiating ranks.
