The NHL’s preseason and training camps being cut to roughly two weeks has made things into somewhat of a sprint. There are now only four preseason games, which gives players a limited amount of time to earn roster spots. And the shorter time frame has put some teams into tough positions with players who are still either restricted free agents (Adam Fantilli, Alexander Nikishin) or have demanded a trade (Connor Hellebuyck, Dylan Larkin, Kirill Marchenko). Thankfully, the Chicago Blackhawks don’t have anyone begging for a trade, and their roster appears to be pretty close to being set.
