Tyrone Sobry returns to Saskatoon following trade with Cougars -Saskatoon, Sask., - A familiar face is back with the Blue and Gold. The Saskatoon Blades have acquired 20-year-old defenceman Tyrone Sobry from the Prince George Cougars in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2028 Western Hockey League Prospects (WHL) Draft. “We were informed on Friday that Tristan Doyle would be leaving for NCAA, so we immediately inquired about adding Tyrone back," said Blades president and general manager Colin Priestner. "Our coaches felt he was exactly what our defensive core needed as a 20-year-old. He plays hard, simple hockey and is extremely well liked in our room. He will be a strong shutdown presence for us this year.” The 6-foot-2 blueliner was acquired by the Blades on October 14, 2025 in a trade with the Prince Albert Raiders. 2026 Montreal Canadiens Top 25 Under 25: The Projects (42-35) - Introduction Getting closer to the top players in the organization, we find a group that is neither on a track to play in the NHL nor appearing hopeless to do so. These prospects have generally performed better than those we just discussed as Long Shots, with a larger base of skills to work with. Three of the players are from the 2026 NHL Draft class, but there is an equal number of off-season additions for the Laval Rocket. In both cases, they are new players to the project, which tends to make it hard to place them above players we have a few years of experience with. The two returnees in this section moved up from the last year, and some of the newcomers could experience something similar in their future. #42 Parker Trottier Forward – 18 – Regina Pats (WHL)

Look no further than the Spirit of Healthy Kids Program. The program initially launched as a reading program back in 2015, but has since expanded to share lessons about healthy habits, kindness and community involvement. In addition to school visits that see players read to classes and take part in group activities, the Cougars have teamed up with Spirit of the North to create videos covering everything from proper teeth brushing to managing screen time. "Screens have a way of sucking us in," forward Townes Kozicky explained in one video. "If we're not careful, we can lose control of our whole day and we can end up feeling low energy and down on ourselves." "The more time we spend on screens, the less time we have for other activities," defenceman Eli Johnson added. "Real life happens off screen. Don't miss it."
