But while we all fret over who to move into the top spots, voters also make their task of ranking a high number of players easier by shifting a few players to the lowest ranks to limit the options they have to mull over higher up. Maxime Côté Côté, a Sherbrooke native, had the opportunity to be drafted by his hometown team, the Phoenix, in the 186th overall position in 2021. At the time, he was playing Midget Espoir hockey with the Triolet Harfangs. The following season, he moved up to U18 AAA with the Magog Cantonniers, while also playing one game with the Phoenix. He earned a full-time spot in the QMJHL in 2022-23, and after two and a half seasons in Sherbrooke, he was traded to Moncton midway through the 2024-25 season.
