Blackhawks at Wild: Preseason preview and game thread -
Training camp ahead of the 2026-27 hockey season is already in full swing and Saturday evening brings the first preseason game on the calendar, as the Blackhawks are on the road against the Minnesota Wild this evening. As is traditionally the case for the preseason, a road game means the Blackhawks are sending most of their AHL-destined players for this evening skate. Below are the players who were on the ice for practice in Chicago on Saturday morning, which means they are likely NOT on their way up north to face the Wild this evening. For a rough estimate of what the Blackhawks lineup will look like in Minnesota, here’s a well-educated guess from Ben Pope of the Sun-Times: Blackhawks, err, IceHogs lines appear to look something like this (no promises) for tonight's preseason opener at Minnesota:Slaggert-Toninato-HayesBoucher-Seney-SpellacyVanacker-Felcman-MisiakMylymok-Boisvert-

Steve Yzerman WARNED the Red Wings About Trading Dylan Larkin… He Was Right | 7 Minute Wings -
Steve Yzerman may have warned the Detroit Red Wings about exactly what we’re seeing right now with Dylan Larkin. Elliotte Friedman discussed the Larkin situation on 32 Thoughts and said Yzerman had warned Red Wings ownership that if Detroit traded Larkin, they probably would not “win” the trade in the short term. Instead, the return would likely be focused more on longer-term help—and according to Friedman, that apparently wasn’t what Detroit wanted to hear. Now look at the Minnesota Wild. Minnesota continues to be at the center of the Dylan Larkin trade conversation, but reported and proposed packages have revolved around prospects and futures—including names such as Danila Yurov and Charlie Stramel, along with depth pieces and draft capital. Detroit reportedly wanted immediate NHL help, which helps explain why those kinds of packages haven’t solved this situation. And then there are the FAN trade proposals… One Wild fan offered Detroit a sack of potatoes for Larkin. So congratulation
