EDMONTON, Alta. – OHL players and staff helped Canada claim gold at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, as they defeated the United States 8-1 Saturday at Rogers Place. FLINT - The Flint Firebirds have announced that they have signed defenseman Landon Pickersgill to a Standard Player Agreement. Pickersgill was selected by Flint in the seventh round of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection Draft. He played the 2025-26 season for the Leamington Flyers in the OJHL and was the Flyers’ highest-scoring defenseman with 13 goals and 27 assists in 55 games. A Windsor, Ontario native, Pickersgill has a commitment to play NCAA hockey at Lake Superior State University. He is the sixth player from Flint’s 2025 OHL Priority Selection Draft class to sign with the Firebirds. Spitfires Sign Free Agent Jack O’Dell to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement WINDSOR, ON. The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Jack O’Dell to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. Although not selected in the OHL Priority Selection Draft, O’Dell showcased his talents this past season by recording 21 points in 30 games with Phillips Academy Andover. Standing at 6’2 and 195 pounds, O’Dell spent the first half of the 2025-26 season with the NV River Rats 16U AAA National Team, where he registered 10 points in 26 games. During the 2024-25 season, O’Dell played for the Windy City Storm 15U AAA team, recording 4 goals, 22 assists, and 90 penalty minutes in 49 games. Introduction The excitement each year when we do this project is coming up with an order for the top players in the organization, with new additions and great seasons from others shifting how relative value is viewed from summer to summer. But while we all fret over who to move into the top spots, voters also make their task of ranking a high number of players easier by shifting a few players to the lowest ranks to limit the options they have to mull over higher up. Each year we like to show the full list of players in the project, first looking at those outside of the official Top 25 Under 25 to show where everyone landed. The first reveal is a block of players who are viewed to have very little chance of making it to the NHL, but the group always includes some of the newer draft prospects that no one knows enough about to put them above those who’ve been in the system for a year or two. WINDSOR, ON - The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce the signing of forward Bogdan Yakushevsky to the Red, White and Navy for the 2026-27 season. Yakushevsky was selected 46th overall by the Spitfires in the 2026 CHL Import Draft. Bogdan hails from Chita, Russia. He stands at 6’0 and weighs 180lbs. Yakushevsky spent the 2025-26 season with the CSKA Moskova U17 and U18 Teams as well as Krasnaya Armiya Moskva in the MHL. Former OHL netminder Jack Campbell announces retirement -
Former Soo Greyhounds and Windsor Spitfires goaltender Jack Campbell has announced his retirement from professional hockey. The 34-year-old native of Port Huron, Mich. played two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League from 2010 to 2012, arriving in the league from the U.S. National Team Development Program. Campbell played to a career OHL mark of 45-29-5-6 with a 3.62 goals-against average and .890 save percentage over 91 regular season games. He went on to appear in 176 NHL games over his career, posting a 93-52-18 record with a 2.76 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. He last played with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins in 2024-25. Originally selected 11th overall by the Dallas Stars at the 2010 NHL Draft, Campbell won a Calder Cup championship with the Texas Stars in 2014. Internationally, he represented the United States at three consecutive IIHF World Junior Championships, backstopping the Americans to gold in 2010.
