TORONTO – The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) will play a central role in an Ontario Men’s Junior Hockey Development pilot project approved by Hockey Canada’s board of directors for the 2026-27 season, a province-wide initiative designed to bring greater consistency to men’s junior hockey in Ontario while creating additional development opportunities for players and goaltenders. Rosner added that a few details need to be finalized, but all indications suggest that Maggio will sign with Admiral before the KHL season begins on September 5th. The Flint Firebirds and Sarnia Sting announced Friday that the Firebirds have acquired the rights to defenceman Nicholas Bogas from Sarnia in exchange for defenceman Landon Pickersgill and four draft selections. Bogas is a left-handed defenceman who played for the U.S. National Team Development Program last season. The Royal Oak, Michigan native was selected 139th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the fifth round of the 2026 NHL Draft. In 37 games last season, Bogas recorded two goals, two assists and a plus-nine rating. Sarnia originally selected Bogas in the 11th round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. In exchange for Bogas, Sarnia acquires Landon Pickersgill, a 2027 third-round pick, a 2029 fourth-round pick, a 2030 fourth-round pick and a conditional 2030 15th-round pick. FLINT - The Flint Firebirds have announced that they have signed defenseman Landon Pickersgill to a Standard Player Agreement.  Pickersgill was selected by Flint in the seventh round of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection Draft. He played the 2025-26 season for the Leamington Flyers in the OJHL and was the Flyers’ highest-scoring defenseman with 13 goals and 27 assists in 55 games.  A Windsor, Ontario native, Pickersgill has a commitment to play NCAA hockey at Lake Superior State University. He is the sixth player from Flint’s 2025 OHL Priority Selection Draft class to sign with the Firebirds. Although not selected in the OHL Priority Selection Draft, O’Dell showcased his talents this past season by recording 21 points in 30 games with Phillips Academy Andover. Standing at 6’2 and 195 pounds, O’Dell spent the first half of the 2025-26 season with the NV River Rats 16U AAA National Team, where he registered 10 points in 26 games. During the 2024-25 season, O’Dell played for the Windy City Storm 15U AAA team, recording 4 goals, 22 assists, and 90 penalty minutes in 49 games. Each year we like to show the full list of players in the project, first looking at those outside of the official Top 25 Under 25 to show where everyone landed. Yakushevsky was selected 46th overall by the Spitfires in the 2026 CHL Import Draft. Bogdan hails from Chita, Russia. He stands at 6’0 and weighs 180lbs. Yakushevsky spent the 2025-26 season with the CSKA Moskova U17 and U18 Teams as well as Krasnaya Armiya Moskva in the MHL.
